JASON TINNOCK – MY STORY
Jason knows first-hand the challenge of living with chronic pain, having been diagnosed with Hip Perthes Disease and spending an extensive time in hip traction as a young boy. This experience introduced him to his true calling as a healer at a very young age and has given him a deeper understanding and empathy for his clients’ needs.
Jason began his massage therapy career in Sydney in 1996 before moving to Brisbane in 2001 and recently settling in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast with his family. He stands out from other therapists because of his depth of knowledge in human anatomy and his ability to explain and treat a persons’ condition in a way that truly makes sense. Many of his clients are referred to him from medical practitioners or existing clients, who will tell you “he knows what he’s doing” and “he is a good bloke”.
Jason took an interest in sports massage because he loves everything sport and now has his own practice in Mooloolaba. He has participated in pretty much every sport there is, including basketball, swimming, volleyball, water polo, hockey, rock climbing, martial arts and surf lifesaving. He has also competed in body building competitions (he was natural, they weren’t) and road bike and mountain bike races.
In addition to having his own practice Jason has worked with some of Australia’s most elite athletes and sporting clubs, including:
- the Australian Mountain Bike Team
- the Brisbane Lions
- the Parramatta Eels
- the QAS Swim Squad
- the St George A-Grade Soccer Team and
- the NSW Waratahs.
Jason Akermanis, from the Brisbane Lions, describes Jason as being “at the top of the tree of massage therapists” and his clients agree. He is renowned for his ability to diagnose and isolate problem areas and provide a treatment plan for quick and long lasting solutions.
In addition to being a skilled massage therapist Jason is also a great motivator and results driven Personal Trainer. He is able to combine massage and exercise to get the best long-term results for his clients.
